A bloodthirsty God

Clearly God is not a vegetarian. His disdain for the ‘fruit of the ground’ resulted in the first murder, by the first offspring, by his very first creation. Didn’t he judge all his creation ‘good’? What kind of being could only be appeased by blood shed? Why did an innocent animal have to be slaughtered to satisfy God’s bloodthirst? How many lives, both animal and human, were lost in order to appease God’s need for bloodshed?

  1. Thomas, long time no post. I’ve been rather busy with getting back in shape for sports and getting ready for college so I’ve let my blog slip a little bit but nonetheless i have returned!

You say that God is bloodthirsty but I say quite the opposite. Adam and Eve committed the first sin in the Garden, this left a blemish on the purity of God’s creation. That blemish could only be removed if someone that was completely pure came and died for the sins of the rest of the impure. The killing of the animals was an atonement for their sins until Jesus came back and I believe we both know the story from there. Well I’m off to enjoy the day. !)avid

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS BLOODTHIRSTYNESS JUST FOR EATING A FUCKING APPLE OR WHAT THAT PARABLE REPRESENTS. i DON’T CARE HOW MANY SATANS THERE ARE, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR GOD TO BE IN ANYWAY BLOODTHIRSTY IF HE INDEED IS. Posted in all caps on purpose, because I am mad as hell right now. I almost broke my monitor.

  2. Hey whiteman0o0, been wondering where you’ve been. What sports do you play? You’ve missed some very interesting arguments during your absence. Here are the links to some of the more recent posts you might (might! 🙂 ) have an opinion on:

Now to your comment regarding my assertion that the Christian God is bloodthirsty. First, if your concept of god were real then it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for man to ‘blemish’ your God’s creation’s perfection. That is unless God WANTED them to blemish it so that he could punish them. Your God is perfect, all knowing and all powerful. He could have reacted any way he wanted to Eve falling for Satan’s lies. He could have prevented Satan from entering the Garden in the first place. Your God set the scene. Your God CHOSE to react the way he did. He wanted to punish his creation. Second, you say that the ONLY way for that blemish to have been erased was to have something pure come down and die. Animals NEEDED to be slaughtered, their blood staining the altars, to atone for man’s sins until Jesus could be killed instead. Again, your God is perfect, all knowing and all powerful. He is not a slave to some premandated punishment system or method of atonement. God decides what the rules are. He decides the punishments. He decides what man must do to appease him. Blood sacrifice wasn’t NEEDED, it was DEMANDED. How do you define BLOODTHIRSTY, whiteman0o0?

    Welcome Back!
